FAQs
Are Segways difficult to ride?
No, but you must be trained properly. You will be individually trained and have time to practice before starting the tour. Once you become familiar with the Segway’s operation, they are very intuitive.
Do I need to have really good balance to ride a Segway?
Not really. You need to be able to stand up for at least 20-30 minutes, but it’s not much harder than that once you understand how the Segway operates. It was designed to balance you with gyroscopes, so you don’t have to balance it.
What is the minimum age for riders?
12 yrs
Is there a weight limit?
Yes, about 300lbs
Are there different prices for children or seniors?
No, a ticket is a ticket. However, many resellers, such as Viator and Get Your Guide list all tickets as being Adult, but riders as young as 12 years old are welcome to buy an adult ticket. Please note, that an adult over 18 years old must be present to sign waivers on behalf of all riders under the age of 18.
Can a single rider book a tour?
There is a minimum of 2 riders per tour, but a single rider can join any existing tour that has less than 6 riders booked already. If you ever have trouble booking a tour for any reason, please contact us directly at 888-369-8699 or info@cheyennecanonsegways.com.
How far in advance do I need to book a tour?
Tours can be booked over a year in advance or as little as 2 hours in advance. Remember, all bookings are “first come, first served.” If you have a specific time you need to go, it’s best to book as far in advance as possible.
How many people can go on a tour at once?
The maximum tour size is 6 riders and a guide.
What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel for a full refund with 24 hours or more notice.
Do tours ever get cancelled for bad weather?
All tours are dependent on weather. Tours can proceed in light rain or even light snow. CCS will provide disposable ponchos if needed. It is up to the tour guide to determine if the tour route is safe. If the tour doesn’t go, there is no charge and riders will be given a full refund.
What is your location?
CCS is a mobile, trailer-based business with no brick-and-mortar location. All regular tours begin from the parking lot on the SW corner of W. Cheyenne Road and Evans Ave. This parking lot is just across the street from the Starsmore Nature Center located at 2120 S. Cheyenne Canyon Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80906.
Do I have to wear a helmet?
Yes, but feel free to bring your own safety helmet or one will be provided to you.
Sanitation
Each Segway and helmet is sanitized between every rider, with new single-use earbuds to easily hear the stories of Colorado Springs.
